"Let's go." He said, walking into the hallway. "Auggie and Felina will sleep in the bed farthest from the window, and Keri and Selina will sleep on the next one. Felina can sleep on the couch, and I will sleep on the armchair. Does this sound alright to everyone."

"Good." He said, unlocking their door with a swipe of the keycard. "Everyone go ahead and get dry, there are some towels on the chair all ready for you."

Keri was still curious to know who was paying for them.
She dried and braided Selina's hair, then did her own and out the younger kids to sleep.
They watched old cartoons on the TV for a bit before they cut it off, making the room completely dark.
Keri was left in darkness and silence, and she hated it.
She was left to think, wondering if whoever did this was going to use how much money they'd spent aginst them.
She wondered if she'd wake up tomorrow in the cage again.
She wondered if she'd be able to find a job tomorrow.
She wondered who Everest was, and why he was mutated like them.
Keri silently got out of bed and opened the door to the balcony, she sat in one of the hard wicker chairs and looked out at the city, lights flickering, planes flying, cars rushing in and out. She'd never seen it so close.
Looking behind her to make sure Auggie wasn't getting up for a drink of water or something. She removed her shirt and spread her wings, their black feathers almost looking blue in the moonlight.
She dove off of the balcony, and quickly unfurled her wings, shooting above the clouds.
Ghusts of wind caught under her wings, and she soared through the clouds, water sprinkling her bare stomach, the stars so clear from here.
Flying in a sports bra and pajama pants.
So fun.

Shiva was cleaning their clothes in the large sink in the kitchenette when the phone rang. He picked it up as to not wake anyone up, and luckily no one did.
"Hello! How are you?!" THe woman's cheerful voice spoke.
"Miss.Snow."
"Always so formal! Call me Samya."
Shiva had a weird feeling, as if someone had said those words to him before.
He didn't realize how long he was standing there when the water poured over his feet, overflowing from the sink.
"Shiva? Are you there?"
He shut off the water quickly.
"Yes. Say, Samya, did you say something like that before now?"
THere wasw a pause.
"Silly Shiva! It is certantly possible!"
"I-"
"I just came to see if you were here! Well, the company isn't looking for you here! They have broadened their search to the far city. They are searching the air, so keep your feathered friends out of the sky until further notice!"
"Alright, but-"
THe line went dead.
He shook his head. She was always so strange around him.

Keri flapped her wings a bit to keep her hovering.
She stared at the city below, thinking of how beautiful she must have looked from the grown.
If anyone was looking up that is.
No one looked up anymore.
She looked up at the moon, half expecting it to grow a face and explain everything.
Where her parents were.
Where the room came from.
How she'd find a job.
But no such luck.

Shiva passed by the beds, and saw that Keri was missing.
Shit.
Hopefully she would use her head and get out- he was in no mood to have guilty concience when they were busted and he had to ditch them.

Keri hummed a few songs and soared over the city, dodging a plane or drone here and there.
Eventually it got too cold and she headed back.
As she dove for their hotel room she noticed the light in the kitchen was on.
Crap.
She landed swiftly on the balcony and collected her shirt, looking into the room.
"Hello?" She whispered.

Shiva was sitting in a chair he had pulled from a expensive looking dining room set, and was almost asleep when he heard the balcony's door open, and he opened one eye.
"You went out. Was it enjoyable."
