He rolled his eyes and crossed his arms. "If you wish to spend your money on it, go ahead."

"Goodness shiva. Lighten up. " Keri said, placing the mask back in the basket it had come from. "Let's go then. " Keri sighed, so much for making people laugh

Everest sat on the balcony ledge, his legs carelessly dangling over. His tail wagged slowly as well, uncovered and free. Everest was never fond of this 'Tom and Jerry', so he resorted to watching the normal people with their normal lives instead. The cars darting up and down streets, the trees gracefully swaying with the dancing wind, the teenage delinquents skipping around as they avoid school's clutches, and the golden sun giving life to it all. It was beautiful, yet oh-so hideous to him. Sighing, Everest reached into his pants pocket for a cigarette, only to find that there was nothing there. Well, wasn't that nice? He cursed under his breath before turning to slide off the balcony, when he heard it. An animal call. No, a fox call. It came from.... The east. Not too far from where he was. It sounded more like a cry than a call, if he were to focus hard enough. Cry of a little, lost kit. What was it- Oh. It got separated from its mother. Where was its mother? He hoped she wasn't dead, leaving the kit all alone. Everest listened rather intently for a while as the kit continued to cry. Its mournful call didn't falter for a second, but Everest's heart did. He knew what it was like to be torn from his family, to be left behind. Abandoned. He didn't want that for the poor kit, but what was he to do? He couldn't just run off from everyone else to save just a baby fox... Or could he? No, no. The kit will be fine. He was. Instead, Everest decided to call out to the baby, trying to assure it that it would be alright. Of course, it wasn't any human call. It was a fox call, that definitely wouldn't sound familiar to anyone but a fox itself. Everest ended up having a full-blown conversation with the kit.

Felina and Auggie were still glued to the TV and didn't notice Everest, but Selina did. His lips were moving, but something completley different looking came out. Like watching a horribly dubbed foreign movie. Carefully, Selina slid the door open and headed out.
Feeling she was one hundred percent exposed, she smoothed her wings flat against her back. Hesitantly, she tapped Everest on the back. "Everest?" she asked in a tiny voice.
"Uhm....are these yours?" she fetched a carton of cigarettes from her dress pocket and handed them to him, she'd found them last night in a drawer looking for her pajamas.

Everest jumped up yet again in surprise, having to grasp onto the ledge tightly to not fall and break his neck. Oh hey, it was the cute voiced girl again. He glanced down and saw her holding the cigarettes he thought he'd lost. Sighing in relief, he softly took them from her hand and smiled. "Hey, thanks." Everest shoved the pack back into his pocket, before speaking again. "Promise me something? Promise you won't pick up this habit as well?" He asked, referring to the whole smoking thing in general. It truly was a nasty habit, but he had his reasons. Not that they were any good. Everest silently wondered whether the kit was still alright.... There weren't any responses since Selina came along.

Selina nodded and smiled. "Keri told me its a waste of money." Keri was still left to wonder what he was doing, but as she was a child, didn't hesitate to ask. "What were you doing just now?"

Keri tossed kids toothpaste into the basket. A bit extra? Yes. But Selina always complained that "Adult" toothpaste stung her mouth. And Keri wasn't gonna let her run around with grimy teeth. "We should head to groceries now." Keri said, looking over their cart. Three boxes of soap, shampoo and conditioner (two of each), a few packages of socks and plain white t-shirts, mechanical pencils, and some extra toothbrushes. That should work.

Everest shifted his position a little, as if contemplating. And yes, he was indeed. There wasn't any point in lying, since she had to have some idea of what he was doing, plus she was a hybrid as well. So instead, he gingerly brought her closer and pointed out to the horizon. "You see over there, right?" He didn't wait for a definite answer, "There's a baby fox out in the brush outside those woods. He lost his mother, so he started crying for her. I decided to make him feel better by responding to his cry, that's all." Everest then let go of her, and slid off the balcony ledge himself. "I haven't heard anything else, so I hope he's alright. We should probably go back inside, anyway."

Keri observed two packages of fruit leather, trying to figure out the price per ounce. Back at the lab, they educated them from cages, not so much on History or Science, for fear they'd get ideas or start to realize what they were doing to them was wrong. But they all excelled in math snd writing, because that was all they really taught them.
"Do you have a preference for food Shiva? Something you have to have as a snake?"
keri instantly snapped up and looked around, good no one noticed. She'd forgotten to be quiet. They were in public now, and they had secrets to keep.

Shiva shrugged. "I'll worry about myself. I'll be fine."
