Keri sighed and let go of Shiva.
"Felina. She said she picked up a scent and it dissipeared around the city. She didn't want me to get upset because she'd thought you'd died. So she told me you'd been lost. After several days of searching she came clean and I accepted it as the truth. "
Keri turned away from Shiva and started walking down the path, pulling her jacket over herself.
"I guess it was easier to think you were dead than watch everyone loose their minds trying to find you. "

"I'm not sure. I mean, it's possible she could have lost it in all the blood, then the sudden overwhelming an unusual scent of Saffron's. she isn't perfect."

A strong wind blew past them, it's frosty hands tickling underneath Keri's hoodie. Damn, she wished she hadn't given Everest her jacket.

Keri and Shiva walked in silence for a while, the ground was leveling out a bit and the wind wasn't as strong.
"And what about you? Are you okay? That little bitch didn't hurt you did she?"
Keri still didn't look to Shiva, she now looked up at the grey-Ing Sky. No doubt it would rain soon.
Which wouldn't be a problem if they had somewhere to go.

Auggie picked at a ball on lint on his hoodie.
Selina braided three blades of grass together.
The sky was getting grey and heavy.
What if it rained before Keri got back?
Auggie sighed and looked up at the sky again.
A bird nestled itself in its burrow In a tree just above him.
A squirrel jumped around the base of a tree before scurrying upwards.
"Selina?" Auggie muttered.
"Yeah Auggie? "
"Do you think Shiva is dead?"
Feline had explained why Keri took off running once they escaped into the woods.
Keri had completely blown their cover. The instant people recovered from the shock, someone had ripped off Auggie and Felina's hats, exposing their ears.
A mob of people were rushing forward. And Selina and Auggie had to use their "only in an emergency trick" where they pulled Felina up by her armpits and carried her off.
"I don't know. " Selina finally answered.
