Shiva sighed.
"You can't go into a public place wearing stark white hospital dresses. There is a highway stop town ahead. They have a GoodWill there. I'll get you all some clothes. You can change and then we can get pizza."
He sighed again. These people were not seasoned pros at this 'escape capture and STAY free' thing.
Was he?
The empty question rang in his min an he shook it off.
"Let's go."

Selina did a fist pump, whooping, and Auggie smiled, removing his wings a bit. "Alrightie!" Keri grinned, and the group started their walk. "Wait!" Selina interrupted. "Auggie's horns!" They turned twoards Auggie, the poor boy's face turning bright red. "Ah crap. "

"Beanie." He said simply. "That'sll work. People never look twice anyways, as long as you dont make yourself noticed."

They spent a few minutes tucking their wings into their gowns and arranging Auggie's hair to cover a little bit of his horns. "Ready then?" Keri asked.

Cold. Damp. Lonely. This was day in and day out for Everest, ever since he escaped the laboratory keeping him prisoner. He didn't mind the loneliness, as he was quite used to that by now, but it got pretty boring. The river was a good location, giving him a place to bathe and drink from. Not to mention the prey that happened to wander by. What with his fox genes having him crave smaller mammals, rabbits and such... Raw. He didn't know how on Earth he could down it, but he wasn't one to question. Of course, there were downsides. Such as shelter. It was a while before he found a suitable place to stay, which was a storage house not too far from the river itself. It was small, yes, but livable. Everest had no other place to go, anyway.... Dead father, carted off mother, no clue where his siblings have gone in the past few years... And then there was Yana. He didn't like to talk about her. Who would even take in an awful hybrid like him? He felt he had no choice but to hide away, so that's exactly what he did. Everest only left to the town nearby to snag cigarette packs, whenever he ran out. God, such a horrible habit. He could never break it, though. Ever.
So now here he was, napping in the middle of the storage house. Tail wrapped around his torso, arms covering his face. Now that he thought about it, he probably should've stolen a blanket or two as well.... Ah, maybe next time. All of a sudden, his ears picked up on a multitude of unfamiliar noises a few miles off. If he had actual fox ears growing from the top of his head, they'd be perked up right about now. Soon enough, Everest uncurled his tail from around him and stood, stretching. "What's going on now...?" He muttered to himself as he opened the door, wincing at the creaks it made. Everest figured it was some big animal passing through, like a bear or something. He hoped it wasn't a bear. After a little while of walking, Everest found the source of the noise. People. Confused and afraid, he immediately ducked behind a bush to watch them further. Something.... Something was off about them. Everest couldn't put his claw on it, though.
Wait.
No.
There's no way.
More?

"Yes." He nodded, and examined the contents of his bag, and found a hairbrush, and as he walked, he pulled the bits of stick and numerous snarls out of his hair.
"I'll let you all have it when we get you changed."

Well. Here we were again. The traveling freak show. Three birds, a cat, and a who-knows-what. All on our way to get pizza and new clothes.
"So. Do you have a plan for a place to stay?" Keri asked as Shiva brushed through the knots in his hair.

Oh crap.
He didn't remembered if he did or not.
"No, but i'm sure we can find a place."

"There's gotta be a good hotel, I'll sleep on the floor I guess " Keri chuckled, looking over the cards and cash in the wallet.
Keri was pretty impressed with her freak show, they'd been out for fifteen minutes, and they had a plan already. Well, thanks to Shiva mostly.
"Thanks for the break out thing by the way. " Keri said with a smile. Auggie and Selina nodded, murmuring thank you's quietly.

"I don't think we should get a hotel for now. Six teenagers getting a room the same night six teenagers escaped from a lab? That's like flashing a neon light saying "HEY LOOK WE ARE RIGHT HERE."

"Isn't the project top secret? I mean. It's inhumane treatment of children. They'd be locked up if this got out. "

Alright, it was too damn obvious now. Top-secret project? Inhumane treatment of children? Six people hiding away, just like him? Not to mention the hospital clothes. If that didn't tell him enough, he didn't know what would. So, why not make an entrance? What could possibly go wrong? A shit ton. But, if he showed them what he was, perhaps they'd let him tag along. It was becoming very tiring trying to survive on his own in this kind of situation... With that thought in mind, Everest stood up and made his way towards the group. His voice as confident as possible, he spoke up, "Well, well... More hybrids, eh?" The whole confident ploy didn't work for long, since a coughing fit soon caught up with him. You'd call this "smoker's cough", most likely. Oh, that reminded him. He needed another cig after this.

"That's exactly it." Shiva said. "They have their fingers in companies everywhere."
It took a minute, then he noticed a new scent in the air. It was faint, and cloaked.
He tensed up I instantly. Nothing good came with hidden scents
How he knew the scent was hidden, he didn't know, or why he knew it was bad, he also didn't know, but he trusted himself.
"More hybrids, huh?" A scratchy voice said from behind him, and his mind switched to 'fight' mode instantly.
Most species would jump right in, by he examined the situation in a split second, taking in the situation from afar, so he didn't so anything rash.
More hybrids?
That means he must be a hybrid. Perhaps one that works for the company.
Ears were done. Now for the one thing that wouldn't lie to him- his nose.
A fox. This boy was a fox hybrid. Or he just ate a LOT of fox, or maybe rolled in a few carcasses. Looking at his apperance, he guessed it was the first.
His animal side instantly tensed up, even though the skinny, discheveled kid reeked of disease, smoke, starvation, and saying it smelled like he hasn't showered in a week would be putting it kindly. And lots of fox.
Birds? Cats? Whatever that other kid was? He could handle that. But foxes? They killed snakes.
"Who are you." He said, but didn't attack. It was apparent he wasn't going to bother him.
Oh shit.
Keri.
If she talked to him, she was going to FEEL bad. And THEN she was going to LET HIM COME ALONG.
Goddamn it.

"who are you?" Keri asked gently. Auggie was tucked behind his wings, and Selina was prepared to fly off. Keri was making mental plans as to how she'd get Felina and Shiva out. Okay okay Keri. She thought. Don't get ahead of yourself.
"Are you okay?" She asked again.

Everest couldn't help but grin. The group before him was borderline pathetic, except for one. The one who glared. The one who didn't want to take any chances. He had to be careful around him, for he sensed a sort of.... Perhaps, dangerous air about him. Everest was never going to get in if he didn't think before he stepped, especially with this one around. What was he, anyway? Everest was keen on finding out. Slightly narrowing his eyes and perking his nose, he began to, well, analyze. It took a few confusing moments, but he soon gathered hold of his being. Reptile. To be more specific, a snake. Ooooh boy, he was in an encounter with a snake? This was going to be fun. Trying not to let his smile broaden, Everest sighed and allowed his tail to flick around a bit, as if teasingly. Being a gray fox, his tail wasn't just red. It was an eccentric mix of colors, from the obvious gray to the orange. It was like, someone splashed paint on his tail and it forever stained. To him, it was pretty cool. The other foxes in the forest seem to think so as well. "Who am I?" Everest repeated, "Why, I'm just an abomination trying to find his way. Isn't it the same for you all?" He tried to find a way to relate to them somehow, thinking maybe that was best. But he didn't let any of them answer. Instead, he just went on. "But if you must know, my name is Everest. Feel free to just call me Ever." If he wanted to bow after that statement, he would have. Foxes aren't gentlemen, though. Oh, wait a second. The girl. The girl with wings. She seemed to be.... Sympathetic. At least a little, more so than the snake. If he were to act like the pitiful little son of a bitch that he was, maybe he could reach into her blind spot. If he did, he was a shoe-in. But not now.
